Q: What is the Intevia^® intelligent fastening solutions database?

A: The database consists of a server and database application that serves two main functions:

Maintaining a global record of fastener mechanisms unique identities, along with records which may include as-built fastener mechanisms applications, access security provisions, operation history, etc.

Maintaining a database of current fastener mechanism and tool operating system firmware/software, applications firmware/software, fastener mechanism configuration and settings information, and general configuration control of all hardware and software items.

Q: Are new Intevia^® intelligent fastener mechanism types and tools required for each new application?

A: Many applications will be able to use fastener mechanisms and tools from the standard categories of Intevia^® intelligent fastening solutions. Other applications may require new types and/or tools to be developed, or require customization of existing mechanisms by the development of new firmware/software applications.
