Radial Fastening Mechanisms
Intevia® high load radial fastening mechanisms feature a series of eight radial locking jaws which engage a specially profiled stud when it is inserted into the body of the fastener. The jaws are released via SMA actuation that rotates an inner drum, allowing the jaws to disengage and release the stud.
These fastening mechanisms are currently in production and are available for general fastening applications. An aerospace compliant variant is also available to meet commercial aviation standards.
